Avaada, ReNew, Sprng Among Winners of 1000 MW SECI Solar Tender

Avaada and ReNew bagged the highest capacities of 300 MW while Sprng Energy won a capacity of 250 MW. While these projects were won at a tariff of INR 2.52/kWh, Solarcraft Power India won 150 MW capacity at a tariff of INR 2.53/kWh.

Avaada, ReNew, Sprng Among Winners of 1000 MW SECI Solar Tender

The 1000 MW solar tender (under tranche XI) by SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) has announced Avaada Energy, Sprng Energy, ReNew Solar Power, and Solarcraft Power India 8 (Blupine Energy) as its winners.

Avaada and ReNew bagged the highest capacities of 300 MW while Sprng Energy won a capacity of 250 MW. While these projects were won at a tariff of INR 2.52/kWh, Solarcraft Power India won 150 MW capacity at a tariff of INR 2.53/kWh.

SECI will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) of 25 years with the developers, who will be responsible for commissioning of the projects within a period of 24 months. It will assume the role of the facilitator, selling the power procured from these projects to several entities.

The developers will have to employ modules enlisted in the ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers).

Developers will also look into land identification, installation of the project, acquisition of ownership as well as necessary approvals. They will also be responsible for ensuring connectivity with the ISTS network for the facilitation of efficient supply of power to SECI.

SECI had announced the results for its tranche XI bidding for the big tender for 2000 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects in July. Jakson, Eden Renewables, SAEL, Shiva Corporation, ReNew Power and Avaada Energy were declared winners through competitive bidding.
