AutoNxt Automation, which claims to be India’s first electric tractor venture, showcased its self-driving Electric Tractor at Chandigarh Electric Vehicle Expo held recently. PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) organized the electric vehicle expo at sector 34 exhibition ground at Chandigarh.

The firm will soon launch, what it calls India’s first electric, autonomous (self-driving) tractor into the market soon.

The electric and self-driven tractor can be charged in 6-7 hours on Single phase supply and in 2-3 hours using fast chargers. The tractor will run for 3-8 hours depending on the activity it is being used for. The tractor has mobile application that updates the farmers on the charging left in the tractor, how much savings the farmers have made by switching to electric. The tractor can be rented out using the app. The e-vehicle will have onboard charging facility and boasts of swappable battery modules to make it future ready for swapping batteries with ease.

We are extremely privileged to have Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and other cabinet Ministers at our stall who have appreciated the presence of the only EV Tractor on the show. AutoNxt e-Tractor has also received very strong response from visitors and many have expressed an interest in buying the electric tractor. Simultaneously, we have received expressions of interest from many to become the distributor in the local region for our e-Tractors,” said Pankaj Goyal, Co-Founder & COO of AutoNxt Automation.

In a panel discussion during the expo, Pankaj Goyal also presented a talk on the Punjab EV Policy, wherein he made a reference to include e-tractors in the EV policies and to create provisions for incentives to promote faster adoption of e-tractors in the state.

PHDCCI says that through this expo, it aims to bring all the relevant stakeholders on a common platform for the development of future-ready and environmentally sustainable mobility products and technologies, besides giving a platform to the public to enhance knowledge on EV products and government policies.

Though the Centre and state governments have already made various policies on the sale and purchase of electric vehicles, the public lacks awareness about the benefits that can be attributed to lack of advertisements.

The expo attracted saw a large turnout of people eager to gain an understanding into the different Electric Vehicle segments ranging from e-rickshaw to luxury EV cars, electric LCVs, e-buses and e-Tractors.

The occasion was graced by Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s wife and Cabinet Minister for State Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar. The ministers pushed for faster deployment of EVs in the region. They also tried their hands on the electric self-driving tractor.
