Asia Brewery Inc. (ABI), a diversified beverage company based in the Philippines, has given TotalEnergies ENEOS a contract for a 13.8 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) system power plant on one of its manufacturing plants in the country.

About 24% of the facility will be powered by renewable energy thanks to this technique. One of the biggest rooftop solar installations in the Philippines on a single site was constructed using the no-CAPEX business model.

The PV system will produce around 20,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable energy annually with over 24,000 solar panels installed, resulting in significant cost savings for ABI and lowering the company’s carbon footprint by about 9,600 tonnes annually, which is equal to planting more than 129,000 trees throughout the contract.

The PV solar system will be installed and maintained by TotalEnergies ENEOS, and ABI will pay for the electricity produced for nine years without making any upfront investments.

The President and Chief Operating Officer of Asia Brewery, Michael G. Tan, stated, “We are thrilled to have worked with TotalEnergies ENEOS for this landmark project. This is one of our efforts in the fight against global warming, in addition to translating to cost savings and energy efficiency for us.

As the region’s top supplier of solar energy, Gavin Adda, Director of TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia, stated, “We are honored to offer solar solutions that minimise costs and reduce the carbon footprint of Asia Brewery. From a technical, financial, and business perspective, TotalEnergies ENEOS offers its clients peace of mind. We are devoted to becoming Asia Brewery’s long-term energy partner and look forward to the chance to work together even more in the future.
