Amplus Solar Adds Mahindra’s Three-Wheeler EV Zor Grand To Mobility Fleet

The electric mobility vertical of Amplus Solar has signed an MoU with Mahindra Electric to procure Zor Grand, which Mahindra claims to be its brand-new breakthrough three-wheeled electric vehicle. Amplus Solar is a member of the Malaysia-based Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) group and is headquartered in Gurugram, India.

Amplus Solar held that with this addition, it will strengthen its fleet of clean vehicles, offering freight delivery to major e-commerce, on-demand logistics, and other enterprises in the country on various subscription models.

The official statement by Amplus Solar held that Mahindra Electric’s Zor Grand is one of India’s most technologically advanced, low-carbon, three-wheeled small commercial vehicles, built for sustainable and intelligent transportation. Amplus said that the agreement signifies a major step forward in its mission to advance clean mobility solutions to its customers.

Abhishek Dabas, Chief Operating Officer for clean mobility solutions of Amplus Solar, stated, “Electric mobility can upend the current logistics and transportation sector. This disruption is even more pronounced at Amplus since we run our fleets by deploying the most advanced technologies, thus removing inefficiencies, and lowering current delivery costs. We feel that the Zor Grand from Mahindra Electric will be a fantastic addition to our clean fleet as we work together to realise zero-carbon freight mobility in India.”

The Electric Mobility Vertical

Amplus Solar’s electric mobility vertical is a 100% subsidiary of Amplus Solar and is headquartered in Gurugram, India. The company aims to ramp up operations to over 1,000  electric vehicles by the end of 2022 with a mix of two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and four-wheeler vehicles in its portfolio. The fleet, it believes, should translate into a daily run of more than 1,00,000 clean kms with a CO2 offsetting of over 20 tonnes.

Amplus Solar said that it already has more than a dozen parking and charging hubs which its partners use to deliver goods to their clients. As part of its expansion from hundreds to thousands of vehicles, this captive charging infrastructure will continue to grow, the company mentioned. Once it has reached a requisite scale, this charging infrastructure will be opened for public charging as EV penetration increases in the market.
