AHODS Technologies, Indian Oil Corp Join Hands To Develop Hydrogen Technology

AHODS Technologies  (Advanced Hydrogen On Demand System)has announced signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with state-owned oil company, Indian Oil Corporation Limited. The MoU strives to commercialize hydrogen technology called ‘Hydrogen on Demand.’

AHODS, a startup that specializes in hydrogen fuel and incubated by FITT (Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer) at IIT Delhi, has patented its hydrogen technology. FITT looks to provide an effective space for interface with the Industry.

Saurabh Mohan Saxena, Founder, AHODS Technologies, said, “India is the 3rd largest consumer of oil with Industry and transport comprising 60% of use…There are only 15-20000 hydrogen vehicles in the world, we want the covert 1 million in India by 2025.”

Dr SSV Kumar, Director of Research and Development, Indian Oil Corporation, added, “With steadfast commitment to balance our stated objectives of decarbonization and onus of fulfilling national energy security imperatives lies on us, Indian Oil is striving towards mainstream Hydrogen for various applications.”

AHODS Technologies is setting up design, development, manufacturing, supply chain and market for reduction in fossil fuel that will lead to a zero emission ecosystem. The company has set its sights on achieving 1 million fuel reduction devices in automotive and industrial applications profitably by 2025.

The hi-tech future technology device of AHODS and its patented method of saving fuel application will reduce the fossil fuel based costs of vehicle drivers. The startup is also looking to enhance the adoption of affordable clean fuel.

It may be noted that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, had launched The National Hydrogen Mission of India in 2021 with a view to support the government in achieving climate targets. The Mission is also dedicated to making India a green hydrogen hub. The policy has been introduced to help achieve 5 million tonnes of Green Hydrogen production  by 2030 while also giving a push to the related development of renewable energy capacity.
