Adani Green's Operational Capacity Jumps 45% YoY to 15.8 GW

Adani Green's provisional update mentioned achieving the target with the addition of 4.9 GW over the last year. It also noted an increase in the sale of energy, which increased 42% (YoY) at 10,479 mn units in Q1 FY26.

Adani Green has witnessed a rise in its operational capacity, which increased 45% year-over-year (YoY) to reach 15.8 GW. The company, while sharing these details in its provisional update, mentioned achieving the target with the addition of 4.9 GW over the last year.

In its provisional highlight, the Gujarat-based company cited a surge in energy sales, which grew 42% year on year to 10,479 million units in Q1 FY26.  It obtained the most recent capacity addition as a result of a capacity surge.

Adani Green has made steady growth in generation at a CAGR of 45% over the last 5 years, with an increasing proportion of merchant power. The company also achieved an increase in solar portfolio CUF at 28.0%, backed by 99.3% plant availability. Its wind portfolio recorded a CUF of 42.3%, with 95.5% plant availability, while the hybrid portfolio achieved a CUF of 43.9%, backed by 98.6% plant availability.

Adani Green Energy’s latest update follows its June announcement of surpassing 15 GW in operational renewable energy capacity. The company reached 15,539.9 MW last month after commissioning 1,011.5 MW of projects at Khavda, Gujarat, across multiple plants.

Projects Contributing To New Capacity Addition

In Q1 FY26, Adani Green Energy reached 15,816 MW, supported by a greenfield addition of 4,882 MW. This included operationalizing 3,763 MW from solar power plants. As a part of the project, Adani brought a 2,463 MW greenfield project in Khavda, Gujarat, a 1,050 MW new capacity in Rajasthan, and a greenfield addition of 250 MW in Andhra Pradesh. 

Whereas, in the wind energy segment, the company operationalized a 250 MW wind project in Andhra Pradesh, bringing its total operational wind portfolio to 585 MW. It also added a greenfield project of 585 MW in Khavda, Gujarat. 

Adani Green also commissioned 534 MW of hybrid power capacity at a greenfield site in Khavda, Gujarat, contributing to its overall capacity additions. The company also noted a rise in energy sales which rose 42% year-on-year to 10,479 million units, driven by the increase in operational capacity.
