ACME Solar Holdings Limited (ASHL) has commissioned the first phase of its large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Rajasthan. The project is being executed through its wholly owned subsidiary, ACME Suryodaya Private Limited.
Rajasthan’s abundant solar resources and supportive renewable energy policies make it a strategic choice. The phased approach facilitates systematic scaling, operational efficiency, and risk management.
Phase-I Commissioning Details
The initial phase has operationalised 19 MW / 38 MWh of the total planned 285 MW / 600 MWh BESS capacity. The Commercial Operation Date (COD) for this phase was declared as February 27, 2026.
The project sites are located at Village Sanwara and Mehar Nagar, Tehsil Pokhran, District Jaisalmer, an emerging renewable energy hub.
Merchant Model
Phase-I will operate under a merchant capacity model, enabling immediate revenue generation by participating in the spot market. ACME Solar has retained the flexibility to transition to long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in the future. This approach allows the company to optimise revenues as the energy storage market evolves while maintaining operational adaptability.
The commissioning was disclosed under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory norms.
INR 4,725 Cr in Debt Financing for RE Projects
ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has recently secured debt financing of Rs 4,725 crore from Indian financial institutions through its subsidiaries. The company said the funds would be used to develop renewable energy projects and to optimise its capital structure by lowering financing costs.
The financing package includes a mix of fresh funding and refinancing, with tenors ranging from 18 to 20 years.
In January 2026, the company, through its subsidiary ACME Eco Clean Energy Pvt Ltd, commissioned 12 MW of its wind power project in Surendranagar, Gujarat. This took the project’s total operational capacity to 68 MW, out of the total 100 MW being commissioned in phases.
