China-based firm, JA Solar Technology Co Ltd, which makes solar products will be providing equipment for a solar project in the Netherlands for a capacity of 103.5 MW. The solar project, the Fledderbosch park, is expected to go live early next year.

JA Solar Technology has bagged the contract from Dutch developer Ecorus. The solar farm is poised to be the second-largest solar farm in the country. Deliveries for the equipment have already begun and will reach completion this year, as informed by JA Solar.

The project is being established in the northeastern province of Groningen and will be commissioned in February 2024. The project will leverage the benefit of a fixed tariff for a period of a minimum of 15 years under the Dutch SDE++ renewables support scheme.

The developer behind the Fledderbosch project was Ecorus, which looks into investing in, developing and building solar projects. The Netherlands-based firm then sold it to renewable energy asset manager CEE Group based in Germany in July. Ecorus has assumed the role of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project.

In the first half of the year, JA Solar claimed a market share of 23% in the Netherlands.

Earlier this year, JA Solar signed an agreement with AMEA Power, a UAE-based power developer. The firm joined hands with a consortium consisting of China Energy Engineering Group, China Energy International Group and Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction aimed at the supply of integrated solutions for gigawatt-scale wind and photovoltaic (PV) projects that AMEA is implementing.
