Interview with Dr Rahul Kapil, Operations VP, Director of Longi Solar

Longi Solar – world’s one of the leading manufacturers of high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells and modules. It has been focusing on MONO for 18 years and is the largest supplier of mono-crystalline silicon wafers in the world, with total assets above $5.23 billion (2017). In an exclusive interview with Saur Energy International during the 12th Edition of Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2018 at Greater Noida, Dr. Rahul Kapil, Operations VP, Director at Longi Solar shared his views on various topics including company’s technology, product offerings, manufacturing capacity, future targets, policy, industry challenges etc.

He also said that “On the technology front and solution to the customers, we are offering mono-perc as we are converted our line to mono-perc and now we are not making any normal mono. In mono-perc you get more energy gain so it is a better solution for the customers and at the same time we have started introducing to the market our bifacial solutions i.e. mono-perc bifacial and mono-perc bifacial half cut cell. In 2019, this will become the standard product available for the customers”.
