Top 10 Ground Mounted Solar Power States by Installed Capacity in India

With the Modi Government’s aspirational goal of 5 trillion dollar economy by 2024-25 for India, power sector gets a centre stage as it is one of the most important pillars of the economic growth of the country. However, coronavirus likely to impact the goals.

Despite such hindrances, power industry especially renewable energy has a higher spirit of achieving the targets. Out of the 175 gigawatts (GW) for renewable energy capacity addition target by 2022, India has installed capacity of about 86.76 GW of grid-interactive renewable power till February 29, 2020, which is in just 4-5 years.

Also, from 60 GW of ground-mounted solar projects target, India installed 31.98 GW of ground-mounted solar projects. Here we look at the top ten states for ground-mounted solar power by installed capacity in India.
