Job Description

This is a Technical Writer role, reporting to the Documentation Manager in business area Process Automation (PA) located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.


  • Planning, editing, writing and developing or migrating complete set of technical documents for the customer.
  • Providing enough information and content in written (or other) form regarding the product/solution so it can be understood and used by the recipient.
  • Collaborating with technical colleagues across the organization to collect all relevant information to be used in technical documentation and partners with them to clarify ambiguous topics.
  • Coordinating the approval process for the technical documentation and documentation templates.
  • Keeping an updated knowledge of the main characteristics of the relevant products and a good awareness of the most common publishing tools and MS Office tools on the market.
  • Contributing to ad hoc project activities and developing/improving documentation tools, templates and processes.

  • B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or Electrical or Electronics from a reputed institution.


  • Required 8 to 12 years of experience in in product documentation development environment.
  • Should have strong competence in technical English.
  • Should have strong knowledge in DITA concepts and information structuring techniques for user-centered content creation.
  • Solid experience in Skribenta or similar Component Content Management Systems (CCMS).
  • Solid technical skills and applied knowledge in MS office applications.
  • Should have delivered high quality content according to plan.
