Job Description

The responsibilities include the design, installation and maintenance of the Integrity Management and Data Solutions Data Network globally. The individual must be qualified at all levels of LAN, WAN, Wireless and Security technologies. The candidate must be competent to work as a SME in the design, support, and troubleshooting of the Network Infrastructure.

Knowledge of standard project management practices with excellent written and oral communications skills are also required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Functions

Essential

  • Configuring, testing, and troubleshooting of network equipment such as Cisco/Aruba/HP Routers/Switches, Firewalls and wireless LAN equipment in coordination with Project, Engineering, and Customer teams.
  • Configuring, Testing, Installation, Troubleshooting of global data routing, global call routing, global video routing and general network connectivity in coordination with Project, Engineering, and Customer teams.
  • Document all network designs, configurations, and network change requests to maintain real time accountability network architecture for Network Operations Center.
  • Standardize global design and documentation of data, voice, and video globally.
  • Flexible schedule and sense of urgency to support escalations that impact business operations and client services.
  • Lead network activity for mobilizations and demobilization’s while updating all documentation and systems pertaining to defined activity.
  • Lead and mentor junior technicians on troubleshooting Data Networks owned by IMDS.
  • Participate in project planning activities.
  • Answer phone and email client requests for support on IMDS services.
  • Available after hours and weekends as needed and willing to work on-call rotation.

Non-Essential

  • Other assigned work as and when required to support operations and Projects.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

Bachelor degree, or equivalent education and experience, and seven (7) to ten (10) years’ working on Data, Wireless and Security technologies. CCNA.CCNP required; prefer CCIE or must be able to obtain. Must also be qualified at all levels of LAN, WAN, Voice, and Security technologies.

Additional Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience directly working with customer and client technical teams
  • Minimum 7 years designing wireless networks for WAN and LAN solutions
  • Minimum 7 years in IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting and routing
  • Minimum 7 years designing global call routing with on Cisco VG, CME, CUE, and CCM.

Expert understanding of:

  • TCP/IP network protocols following the OSI model
  • Cisco ASA Firewall with working knowledge of DMZ design and security best practices
  • Wireless design typically gained from past experiences with the Cisco product line
  • Configuring and troubleshooting GRE/IPSEC in a dynamic VPN environment
  • QOS policies across the Enterprise for Data, Voice and Video solutions
  • Cisco CME, CUE, SIP, SCCP, Telephony services, Voice Codec’s, and Translation patterns is added advantage
  • Routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP, RIPv2, OSPF, PFRv3 and Static routing protocols while using IPSLA

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

  • Troubleshooting software such as Solarwinds, Wireshark, and packet tracers
  • DNS resolution
  • Routing over VSAT, 4G LTE, WiMAX, Metro-ethernet, and fiber
  • Cisco/Aruba Wireless, VoIP, Wireless Controllers, and autonomous and lightweight Access Points
  • Switching technology fundamentals
  • Experience managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures
  • Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events or issues
  • Understanding of common information architecture frameworks
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques
  • Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to address conflict with others constructively
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies
  • Participate in scheduled monthly maintenance process when necessary
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Configure, support, and troubleshoot business-to-business VPN tunnels

  • Platform General Alarm Systems – Provision of onshore support for fault diagnostics, parts provision and vendor liaison.
  • Public Address Systems – Provision of onshore support for fault diagnostics, parts provision and vendor liaison.
  • Satellite Telephony – Fault resolution, parts provision, and coordination of shipping onshore/offshore and onshore test prior to shipping.
  • Aeronautical Beacons – Fault resolution, parts provision, and coordination of shipping onshore/offshore and onshore test prior to shipping.
  • CCTV Cameras – at agreed sites (includes responding to faults, site attendance, and vendor liaison.
  • Radio Licensing – Coordination of license renewal and new license requirements.
  • Access Control – Provision of onshore support for fault diagnostics, parts provision and vendor liaison.(vii) SCADA Systems (Telemetry) – Provision of onshore support for fault diagnostics, 3rd party vendor liaison.(viii) UHF, VHF, Marine and Tetra Radios – Fault resolution, parts provision, and coordination of shipping onshore/offshore and onshore test prior toshipping.
  • Weather Stations and Metrology systems – Provision of onshore support for fault diagnostics, parts provision and vendor liaison.
  • Hot Lines – Support of links to ERC, control rooms and 3rd parties. Fault diagnostics of hot line provision, CCME, private circuits and WAN.
  • PABX support – Support of systems. Fault diagnostics of offshore PABX and liaison with 3rd party support vendors including handsets, privatecircuits and WAN.
  • Satellite Support – Support of sites with Satellite links, coordination with vendors and FTTs and problem management/coordination.
  • Server Support of Telecom related servers.
  • RadioLink (Line Of Sight) support – Provision of onshore support for fault diagnostics, parts provision and vendor liaison as needed.
  • Radar Early Warning Systems (REWS)
  • POB Systems
  • IPT Systems – Support for applications layer for IPT devices. Requires IPT hardware to be monitored and supported using Network ManagedServices.(xix) GPS clocks / NTP for PCN

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
