  • Nacelle Transport team is a part of the Power Solutions business unit in the Vestas R&D organization. The department is accountable for developing and maintaining standard work processes and tools for transport and store of the wind turbines components on the Nacelle.

Responsibilities:

  • Our team is responsible for developing tools, illustrating processes and concepts related to transport and storage of wind turbines (onshore/offshore). Our main responsibilities are to:
  • Develop transport/storage tools concepts/processes for new Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Nacelle components in collaboration with other WTG designers and value chain stakeholders
  • Implement and supervise the ECM process (Engineering change management)
  • Develop 3D-CAD design/models, 2D drawings and bill of materials based on design specifications
  • Define GPS/GD&T on drawings reflecting manufacturing standards
  • Ensure that market requirements and best practices are included in WTG design
  • Ensure cost-efficient design and usage of standard parts as well as manufacturing standards
  • Embed relevant design and production knowledge into CAD by defining master models (parametrical models) and design guidelines/ checklists
  • Standardization
  • Collection of improvement suggestions and best practice from a broad range of global stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • M. Sc. Within Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar (+3 years relevant engineering experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience working with CAD development for production, supply chain, transport tools, handling of wind turbines or other large components in other industries
  • Experience with conducting feasibility studies on mechanical components/tools (CAD)

Competencies:

  • Good skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing/Assembly/Service concepts
  • Engineering drawing: knowledge of international engineering design and drawing standards
  • Feasibility studies: knowledge of the execution of feasibility studies
  • Knowledge of Steel/aluminum materials properties and their specifications
  • Experience working as CAD designer
  • System interface design & stakeholder management
  • Knowledge/experience in analytical and FEA, Good to have using ANSYS (Workbench)
  • Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drawings, using Creo Parametric
  • Ensure 3D/2D CAD quality (GPS, NDT, CTQ)
  • Experience with PTC Windchill
  • You have a good understanding of risk assessment tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, process mapping etc.)
  • Focus on the project scope and able to understand the impact a scope change will have on the project

  • Good understanding about ECM (Engineering Change Management) and it’s impacts across the value chain
