Global QSE supervises the global approach to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment in Vestas throughout the value chain. The function supports both very strategic & operational QSE tasks, leads towards achieving the QSE goals and targets, as well as directs the Global Management System and its certification against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

QSE Global Development and Relevant skills is a global function under Global QSE with focus on guiding group wide Management systems, HSE Analysis, QSE Performance Management, QSE Methods, Tools & Awareness, Advanced Quality, QSE Centralized Operations, Six sigma & Continuous Improvement. People are located in India & Europe to propel global activities collaborating with the regional QSE resources and all other functions across globe. This position is for QSE @ Chennai office.

We are looking for a Lead Chemical Engineer, who will work with different stakeholders across the regions and manufacturing units to propel Chemical management process, setting the world class practices in the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • To act as single point of contact for chemicals and lubricants support from Global QSE
  • Drive changes and improvements in the Chemical Management , dispensation process in Vestas
  • Qualification of new chemicals and lubricants for usage to manufacturing; construction and Service organizations in Vestas
  • Review the replacements for obsolete chemicals/lubricants in the organization
  • Support Sales, Procurement, Service line organization to answer Chemical and dangerous goods transportation specific questions
  • Collaboration with 3rd party companies/sub suppliers developing technical solutions (eg:3eOnline)
  • Provide input to future products/solutions
  • Support projects/Initiatives along with other stakeholders by using their technical skills to provide the necessary environment for project achievement, securing the right level of quality of solution
  • This is highly complex and requires efficiency in both technical as well as management fields. Includes the ability to communicate technical problems, details and test results at all levels

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (BE or Btech) in Chemical Engineering as a minimum qualification
  • 12-14 years of experience in Chemical Management from a Multinational Company
  • Proven understanding about REACH regulations and RoHS directive
  • Understanding of SCIP database established under the Waste Framework Directive (WFD).

  • Good communication skills in English both written and verbal, as you will be working both with internal and external colleagues and partners in a global multi-cultural environment.
  • You have leadership skills and would like to use it in your everyday work.
  • You are pro- enthusiastic and scientific .
  • You are very structured on your approach to work
  • You are customer oriented and have the ability to understand the business value chain seen from a customer perspective
