India's largest and most integrated power sector firm in the private sector, delivered a decent sert of Q3 results, where the closure of its Mundhras plant expectedly weighed down the headline numbers, even as the core business grew well.
The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 771 crore in Q3 FY26, down 25% over the same period last year when it had earned Rs 1,030 crore. Consolidated revenue from operations was down to Rs 13,948 crore in Q3 Fy 26 versus Rs 15,391 crore in the year-ago period, a 9.3 percent drop YoY
However, EBITDA grew 12% during the December quarter to Rs 3,913 crore in Q3 FY26, from Rs 3,481 crore in Q3 FY25. Expenses stood at Rs 13,465.06 crore as against Rs 14,249.35 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
For the 9-Month period, Company’s PAT rose to Rs 3,702 crore (up 7 % YoY); revenue rose to Rs 47,719 crore (up 1 % YoY); while EBITDA grew to Rs 11,874 crore (up 12 % YoY).

Tata Power’s net profit in the first nine months of FY26 was down 6.5 per cent on a yearly basis; however, the revenue decline rate was much lower, at 1.77 per cent YoY, during the same period, thanks to continuing growth in the renewable business including the solar EPC business. The distribution, transmission and solar manufacturing businesses all grew striongly during the quarter. During the quarter, the firm hit the 10 GW mark in its EPC business with a record 1.3 GW executed, even as total capacity, operational and under construction, rose to 16310 MW and 10036 MW respectively.
Renewable Business Growth
Tata Power’s renewable arm’s total utility-scale capacity reached 6.1 GW, comprising 4.9 GW of solar and 1.2 GW of wind. The company commissioned 919 MW of renewables, including 357 MW own projects and 562 MW of 3rd-party EPC to add up to the 1.3 GW figure. the comoany expects clean energy to account for over 66% opf total capacity on completion of existing projects, including Hydro. The firm has a strong pipeline of projects, including 2800 MW of pumped storages project due between Fy 27 and Fy29, giving a clear visibility on future revenues and growth.
Rooftop solar outshines: Tata Power Solar rooftop added 1 GWp capacity and 1.7 lakh new consumers in 9M FY26; Q3 FY26 saw 58,476 installations and a 372 MWp capacity addition, taking the cumulative base beyond 3 lakh customers and 4 GW+ installed capacity.
Solar Manufacturing
Tata Power's module and cell manufactiring business continued to grow strongly with the addition of new capacities. Solar cell and module manufacturing output stood at 962 MW of cells and 990 MW of modules in Q3 FY26. Cell manufacturing capacity expansion
EV Charging
The company has installed 5743 public and captive EV charging stations by the end opf the 9 month period ending December 2025. Covering 667 cities and towns, the numbers doinot include over 190,000 home charging points it has laid , for group firm Tata Motors EV division, which is a market leader in the country.
