Solar Trailblazers, the flagship solar industry event from SaurEnergy finally kept its date with Lucknow in 2025 on October 8.
Graced by the presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar pradesh, Shri Brajesh Pathak, Lucknow MLC Awanish Singh, and partnerships with UPNEDA and local industry associations, the event saw a significant turnout of the state's renewables professionals and firms.
Deputy Chief Minister Pathak, in his keynote speech, stressed on the need for the stakeholders in the state and nationally to put their backs behind a strenous effort to indigenise solar equipment production. Exhorting industry to look beyond modules and complete the ful solar life cycle production, Shri Pathak stressed that solar's critical role in energy security would not be complete without a national push for make in India.
Lucknow MLC Shri Awanish Singh highlighted the many efforts made by the state government to back the growth of solar, including recent efforts to restore net metering benefits for educational institutions. He pointed out the dire need to add more storage capacity in the state and for the grid, to ensure solar energy could truly deliver on its promise of power for all beyond just solar hours.
Prasanna Singh, Director and Group Editor, SaurEnergy, in his welcome address, stressed on how UP had gone through a huge shift in the past two years, with state solar capacity going from 2.5 GW to over 5 GW today. He also made a point to highlight how states axcross India needed schemes and policies with local tweaks, pointing to the need for better and more widespread financing in UP for instance, where per capita income or purchasing power is relatively lower than states like Gujarat or Maharashtra.
Among the awardees as Solar Trailblazers were EPC and IPP firm RAVC Solutions, Lucknow University, Ace Solar, Sun Shaper Energy and Mr Devendra Kumar Khare.
Discussions centered around solar manufacturing in Uttar Pradesh, the sharp progress in rooftop solar in the state, the opportunities opening up in the C&I segment, besides Technology led changes in the sector followed, with industry experts weighing in with insightful points and arguments.
