Green Stocks July 11- Developers Survive A Tough Day At Markets

The week ended on a not-so-encouraging note for the green pack, with only the green developers having something to look forward to. While Acme Solar continued its sharp rise, Adani Green managed to sustain as well, while NTPC Green was also up over 3%.

For the rest, it was a mini-surrender today, as stocks that had logged gains gave up those, and even more in some cases. KPI Green and Shakti Pump investors would be particularly disappointed at how these stocks fell back after starting with promise. In case of KPI, the trend till yesterday was positive, till it slipped up today. 

The two manufacturers, Waaree Energies as well as Premier Energies, which enjoyed such a strong day yesterday, both slipped today to lower levels, although the week remains a net positive one for them. Sterling and Wilson Solar too drifted down after rising for the past two days. 

The movements portray what we have been stressing, that these stocks will move on hard news, rather than general goodwill, anymore. That means expectations from Q1 results could be a key moment, even as order wins and of course, the outcome of the US-India trade deal for manufacturers, would be eagerly awaited.

With more IPOs lined up from key industry players, valuations remain a matter of serious debate, with almost all people agreeing on one thing-that sustaining margins might be the real challenge, rather than just revenue growth.
