The AEROX E, developed entirely in-house by Yamaha, is aimed at extending the popularity of the gasoline AEROX 155 into the electric era.
Building on the sporty image and dynamic performance of its predecessor, the AEROX E seeks to capture a premium segment audience with its blend of stylish design and cutting-edge electric mobility, Yamaha said.
The scooter will be manufactured by India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. The new model launch is aligned with Yamaha’s broader strategy for the ASEAN and emerging markets as part of its Medium-Term Management Plan.

In a move signalling growing synergy between Japanese and Indian EV industry players, Yamaha has developed the EC-06 in collaboration with River Mobility Private Limited, based in Karnataka.
The EC-06 leverages River’s production expertise and is based on one of River’s existing models, featuring a "Stylish & Cool" design ethos. The EC-06 caters to India’s increasingly urban and active consumer base, aiming to diversify Yamaha’s electric offerings beyond the premium, sport-focused segment.
River Mobility, led by CEO Aravind Mani, became a Yamaha partner after the Japanese company’s investment in January 2024, and the EC-06 is the first publicly launched result of this partnership, signalling further collaborative product development ahead.
Road to Carbon Neutrality
The launch is also tied to Yamaha’s global corporate sustainability agenda. Yamaha has committed to achieving carbon neutrality across the full lifecycle of its products, specifically targeting Scope 3, Category 11 emissions, which pertain to product use, by 2050.
