Stäubli, a global industrial and mechatronic solutions provider, has announced a $10 million expansion of its manufacturing facility, in Bangalore, to produce solar PV connectors. The expanded facility is designed to support Stäubli’s growing role in the renewable energy supply chain, particularly in the solar photovoltaic segment, the company insisted. The expanded Bangalore facility is scheduled to commence production in January 2026.
Focus on PV Connector Production
According to the company, the upgraded Bangalore plant will house automated assembly lines and enhanced quality assurance systems for the production of MC4-Evo1 and MC4-Evo2 connectors. These components are used to connect solar modules to inverters and balance-of-system equipment.
The facility incorporates automated manufacturing processes intended to improve production efficiency and consistency.
Gerald Vogt, Chief Executive Officer of Stäubli Group, said India remains a key part of the company’s global manufacturing and growth strategy.
“India is a key pillar in Stäubli’s global growth and manufacturing strategy,” Vogt said. “This investment strengthens our global supply capabilities and enables us to support customers worldwide with reliable, high-performance PV connector solutions produced to the highest quality and sustainability standards.”
On environmental standards front, Stäubli said the Bangalore facility integrates energy-efficient manufacturing processes and operates as a zero-discharge facility. The plant is aligned with environmental standards governing manufacturing operations.
Role in Stäubli’s India and Global Operations
Established in 2012, Stäubli Tec Systems India operates from Bangalore with a branch in Gurgaon. Its operations in India cover Electrical Connectors, Fluid Connectors and Robotics, serving industries including automotive, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, railways, plastics, aerospace and alternative fuels.
Stäubli has a presence across India’s renewable energy sector, serving customers in regions including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chennai and Karnataka. The Bangalore facility is expected to support both domestic demand and international markets as renewable energy deployment increases globally.
The expansion also includes a local vendor development initiative aimed at strengthening backward integration.
Headquartered in Pfäffikon, Switzerland, Stäubli operates in 28 countries, with agents in 50 countries across four continents. The company has four divisions: Electrical Connectors, Fluid Connectors, Robotics and Textile.
