Seventeen new solar module manufacturing units have been added to the latest update of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), including Websol Energy, Knack Energy, and Loom Solar.

Websol Energy, previously active in solar cell production, makes its debut on the ALMM with a 242 MW module manufacturing capacity from its facility in West Bengal.

From backsheets to modules

Knack Energy, which earlier produced backsheets and other ancillary solar components, has entered the list with a 598 MW capacity at its Gujarat plant. Rayon Illuminations also joined the ALMM with 62 MW from its Maharashtra facility, the latest revised ALMM indicated.

Gautam Solar, already listed for its Uttarakhand plant, has added a new 470 MW facility in Haryana to the updated ALMM. The company had announced expanding its production and starting production from its new plant in Haryana. With this, the company has widened its solar module production capacity.

Several manufacturers previously delisted have been reinstated, including Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Credence Solar, Redren, and Fujiyama. These firms were not seen in the last ALMM but have now come back.

Solar module capacity additions 

In addition, companies such as Emmvee, RenewSys, Icon Solar, and Future Solar have reported new capacity additions and added new solar module models. Icon Solar added 574 MW at its Chhattisgarh plant, while Future Solar reported 644 MW. Raajratna Solar added 86 MW of new capacity.
