Viviana Power Tech Wins 100 MW/200MWh Out OF 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh RRVUNL BESS Project
Gujarat-based Viviana Power Tech has added to its recent contract wins with the allotment of 100MW/200MWh from RRVUNL for projects worth Rs 372.93 crore, inclusive of taxes. While sharing these details in a regulatory filing, Viviana Power Tech said, “Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) had issued a new Letter of Intent (LOI) to set up a 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).”
Viviana Power Tech explained that it secured the order to build the BESS project at two locations — Bhopalgarh and Jodhpur in Rajasthan, with Viability Gap Funding support under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model.
The company said it would develop the project at a cost of Rs 302.45 crore over a period of 12 years from the scheduled commissioning date, with a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of Rs 36 crore.
RRVUNL has come a long way since issuing its first tender for a 1 GW/2 GWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in November 2024 under the second Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme. The bidding round achieved tariffs as low as ₹1.775 lakh/MW/month.
