Vikram Solar Secures Spot In BNEF Tier 1 Global Module Makers List PM Surya Ghar: MNRE Proposes Rating Of Rooftop Solar Vendors

Solar module manufacturer Vikram Solar announced that it has once again achieved Tier 1 status in BloombergNEF’s prestigious global module manufacturers list adding, “This recognition underscores the company’s enhanced efficiency, bankability, and production of high-quality products.”

BNEF stands as a reputable industry research organisation in the field of new energy, recognised for its credibility and expertise. The BNEF list aims to clearly distinguish systems among the hundreds of fixed energy storage manufacturers in the market, based on the proven bankability of project deployments. It is a research provider that focuses on global commodity markets and emerging technologies driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. Its ranking of PV module manufacturers is widely respected as one of the most rigorous and credible assessments in the industry, serving as a trusted reference for international financial institutions and industry stakeholders worldwide.

On the ranking of Vikram Solar, Gyanesh Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Vikram Solar said, “As a leading solar module manufacturer in India, we recognise our role in accelerating the global transition to solar energy. We have consistently invested in research and development, operational excellence, manufacturing capacity, and customer-centric practices to ensure consistent performance and reliability. Our renewed Tier-1 status reflects our unwavering dedication to providing top-notch solar solutions and driving advancements in solar technology on a global scale.”

Last year, Vikram Solar got into an order agreement with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) to deliver 152 MW of high-efficiency Crystalline Bifacial Solar PV Modules at Nokh Rajasthan. These modules are slated to power NTPC’s ambitious ground-mounted solar project within the Nokh Solar Park in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

In December 2023, Vikram Solar signed a ceremonial Retainer Letter with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) at the UN Climate Conference, COP28, for its upcoming 3 GW cell & module manufacturing facility at Gangaikondan, Tamil Nadu. The project envisions a consequential partnership between Vikram Solar and DFC towards the clean energy revolution.
