Danish wind energy major, Vestas has announced that it has received three orders in the US amounting to a total of 947 MW in wind turbine deliveries.

The first order comprises a 95 MW project and a 173 MW project with V150-4.2 MW turbines from the same unnamed customer. The projects, including previously purchased PTC components, have a total capacity of 102 MW and 198 MW respectively. The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines as well as a multi-year service agreement. Deliveries and commissioning for both projects are expected in the third and fourth quarter of 2020.

The second order includes supply and commissioning of V120-2.2 MW turbines aggregating to 454 MW, as well as a 10-year service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance for the lifetime of the project. Turbine delivery will begin in the third quarter of 2019 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2020.

The third and last order has been received for the company’s V150-4.2 MW and V110-2.0 MW turbines for a 242 MW wind project in the U.S. Including previously purchased 2 and 4 MW components.

The mixed platform site configuration demonstrates both the flexibility of Vestas’ 2 and 4 MW technology platforms and the company’s ability to create tailor-made site layouts designed to optimise the site’s wind resources.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines as well as a 25-year service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance for the lifetime of the project. Turbine delivery will begin in the first quarter of 2020 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2020.

Recently, the firm announced that with new order for 197 MW of wind turbines, Vestas has surpassed the milestone of 2 GW of order intake for its V150-4.2 MW turbine in Brazil, nine months after the turbine variant made its debut in the country.

Vestas has received a 197 MW order for the Folha Larga II wind park, which will be located in the municipality of Campo Formoso in the state of Bahia, Brazil, from EDF.
