UP: GPES Solar Unit Gets Nod For Grid Connectivity Of 100 MW Project
Noida-based GPES Solar recently received an in-principle grant of connectivity to the grid for a 100 MW solar power project under open access. The company said it secured this approval for connectivity from the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL).
While sharing these details in a regulatory filing, GPES Solar said, “GPES Solar’s subsidiary, GPES Solar 10 Private Limited, has been permitted connectivity approval for its solar power project for which connectivity was sought. This project is expected to come online by January 23, 2027.”
GPES Solar, while sharing details of the order secured from the Solar Power Park Developer, mentioned, “The solar power park of GPES Solar 10, for which connectivity is granted, has a capacity of 100 MW. The voltage level at which connectivity is granted is 220 kV, and the substation at which connectivity is granted is the 765 kV S/s Talbehat UPPTCL. This project will cost around ₹350 crore.”
GP Eco Solutions Previous Projects
Deepak Pandey, Promoter & Managing Director of GPES Solar, shared the company's plans for the year in an investor call for May 2025. He said, “On April 25, we also launched two new off-grid products to scale up storage in India and cater to the 85% market that is based on off-grid systems. We have launched our off-grid inverters in two models — Eco model and Premium model.”
Pandey added, “Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that our company also secured an order for an EPC turnkey contract of 128 MW peak, amounting to over ₹300 crore. This project will be commissioned over a span of 18 to 24 months. With increasing demand, we also plan to set up a 1.2 GW solar module plant and a 2.5 GW automatic BESS line by the end of this year.”
Expansion Plans For 1.2 GW Solar Line
Shedding light on the company’s manufacturing plan, Astik Mani Tripathi, Promoter & Director of the company, said, “As of now, we are going to start with 1.2 GW here in UP, and in expansion mode, we will start in MP, which we plan to complete by the end of the financial year 2027-28. So, as of now, we are starting with 1.2 GW only.”
BESS
Shedding some clarity on the company's BESS project for the coming year, Pandey elaborated, "We are expanding it to a 2.5 GW automatic line BESS, and that will be commissioned in Noida itself as we are scaling up our existing line with the demand and the projects which we are eyeing for the base. So, we are expanding it, and that will be also done by this year end."
He added details on the implementation plan, saying, "So, 5 GW is the page into two phases. In the first phase, we are implementing 2.5, and the second phase will be implementing 2.5. So, with the 1st 2.5, which will be executed this financial year only, so with that we are uh, aiming to cater the BESS orders which we are uh, having and uh all on the final stages of finalization. So, based on that we will be taking it up."
