Trina Solar has announced that by November-end, more than 100 GW of its 210mm modules had been shipped, leading the industry in terms of shipping, power production, and module dimension standardization. The 210 mm module hit the market in the year 2020. It has been the flagship offering from the global firm for the evolving solar market worldwide where it anticipated the need for larger, higher efficiency modules for major projects.

Built on the advanced 210mm product technology platform, its ‘golden-sized’ modules, promise high power, high efficiency, high reliability, and high energy efficiency with a lower LCOE and covering small, medium, and large formats, provide solutions for ground-mounted, residential power plants. and commercial and industrial settings. Therefore, they are an ideal choice in environments such as deserts, mountains, grasslands, water surfaces, marshes, and rooftops. By the third quarter of this year, the company’s cumulative module shipments had exceeded 170 GW.

As an industry pioneer in the adoption of 210mm modules, Trina Solar has always been a strong advocate for 210mm technology. When it launched the 210mm Vertex modules on the market in February 2020, they paved the way for ultra-high power in the PV industry. The company also established the 600W+ PV Open Innovation Green Alliance and connected the entire process chain, from extraction, cutting, and glass cells to modules with partners. Since 2021, Trina Solar has introduced the Vertex 670W and Vertex N 700W modules, leading the industry into the 600W+ and 700W+ era and fully exploiting the potential of the 210mm technology platform. The modules have had a banner 2023 thanks to a resurgence in PV installations worldwide, especially in key markets where Trina Solar already operates, be it China, the US, Europe or India and Australia.

Trina Solar has also taken the initiative to standardize the dimensions of the 210 mm modules. Trina Solar with five other leading PV manufacturers, launched a joint initiative on modules over 700W on December 12, 2023. In July, nine module manufacturers, including Trina Solar, agreed to standardize the dimensions of rectangular silicon wafer modules to 2382 mm x 1134 mm, based on Trina Solar’s 210R modules. Major module manufacturers agreed on the dimensions and location of the mounting holes for the 210mm wafer modules in 2021, with Trina Solar leading the way, resulting in the group’s standard.
