Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL), a discom, recently awarded its 250 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project to four bidders. The tender was issued in April, and the bids were awarded after four months.
According to the tender results, Juniper Green Energy, Navayuga Engineering Company, ACME Solar Holdings, and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) emerged as the winners. These bidders will develop the FDRE project, integrated with energy storage systems (ESS), on a build-own-operate basis.
The tariffs discovered for this tender were in the range of ₹4.76–₹4.77/kWh. TPDDL awarded Juniper Green Energy a 70 MW project at ₹4.76/kWh, while Navayuga Engineering and ACME Solar each secured 50 MW at the same tariff. Tata Power Renewable Energy secured the largest share of 80 MW at a slightly higher tariff of ₹4.77/kWh.
Previous Tenders: A Brief Comparison
Last year, NTPC’s FDRE project discovered lower tariffs of ₹4.69–₹4.70/kWh. NTPC allocated 300 MW to Hexa Climate at ₹4.69/kWh, while ACME Solar received 400 MW and Avaada 60 MW (out of its quoted 250 MW) at ₹4.70/kWh, under the bucket-filling method.
In another auction, SJVN’s 1.2 GW FDRE tender awarded 448 MW at tariffs between ₹4.82 and ₹4.91/kWh, which were relatively higher than Tata Power’s recent results. ReNew Solar Power won 100 MW at ₹4.82/kWh. Other winners included Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon (₹4.86/kWh for 100 MW), Serentica Renewables (₹4.89/kWh for 100 MW), EG Energy/Enfinity Global (₹4.83/kWh for 60 MW), and Tata Power Renewable Energy (₹4.91/kWh for 88 MW).
