TERI Organizes World Sustainable Development Summit in Delhi

The speakers discussed the major resources that find use in solar PV technologies and how the demand would evolve over the next 10-15 years.

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) invited country’s top leaders from the PV industry to address the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) to be held at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi from February 15 to 17.

The agenda of the session was ‘Greening Solar PV Value Chain’. WSDS is the flagship forum of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and seeks to bring together on a common platform, global leaders and thinkers in the fields of sustainable development, energy and environment sectors.

The speakers discussed the major resources that find use in solar PV technologies and how the demand would evolve over the next 10-15 years.

The panelists in the first technical session spoke about the issues related to resource use in solar PV value chain. The speakers who spoke on the occasion including Dr. P.C Pant, Director MNRE, Prof Viresh Dutta, Professor, Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi, Sujoy Ghosh, Country Head, First Solar, Parth Bhatt from Waaree Energies Ltd. spoke

In the second session, the panelists deliberated on the business models and policies fostering resource efficiency in solar PV value chain. Ritesh Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, MoEF &CC, Ashish Khanna, CEO Tata Power Solar Systems, Sunil Jain, CEO Hero Future Energies , V. Ramakrishnan, Director, TORP systems, Agostinho Miguel Garcia, Principal Consultant, SunBD and Rritu Saurabha also spoke on the occasion.
