Tenders Issued for Rooftop Solar Plants at IIT Kanpur and IIT Jodhpur

Two tenders have been issued for the commissioning of rooftop solar projects on the campuses of IIT Kanpur and IIT Jodhpur.

Two tenders have been issued for the installation and commissioning of rooftop solar PV projects on the campuses of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and IIT Jodhpur. 

The first tender has been issued by NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, for the commissioning of a grid-tied rooftop solar PV project of 1 MW capacity at IIT Jodhpur. 

The scope of work for the selected developer will include designing, engineering, procurement, testing and commissioning and all other relevant activities like rooftop strength test, water arrangements, construction power, transportation required for setting up of 1 MW solar plant for captive consumption of IIT Jodhpur. The developer will also be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the plant for a period of 10 years from the date of successful commissioning.

The last date for bid submission is April 16, 2021, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on April 27, 2021. The date and time of opening of the price bids will be intimated separately to the technically cleared bidders.

To be eligible for participating in the bidding process, the developers should have designed, supplied, erected/ supervised erection and commissioned/ supervised commissioning of solar grid-connected power plant(s) of cumulative installed capacity of 800 kW or higher, out of which at least one rooftop solar plant should have been of 100 kW or higher capacity. The reference plant of 100 kW or higher capacity must have been in successful operation for at least six months prior to the techno-commercial bid opening date.

Financially, the average annual turnover of the Bidder, should not be less than Rs 4.1 crore during the preceding three financial years.

The second tender has been issued by IIT Kanpur for the commissioning of on-grid 200 kW rooftop solar PV plant on the terrace of the new core lab building on the campus.

The scope of work for the developers will include supplying, installing, testing and commissioning the 200 kW rooftop solar system. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 89.89 lakh and the selected developers will have a period of 3 months to complete the work on the commissioning of the project.

To be eligible, the developers should have completed three similar works costing not less than Rs 35.96 lakh or 2 similar completed works, not less than Rs 53.93 lakh or 1 similar completed work of aggregate cost not less than Rs 71.91 lakh.

Financially, the bidders should have an average annual financial turnover of Rs 89.89 lakh in construction works during the last three years ending March 31, 2020. 

The last date for bid submission is April 16, 2021, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on April 19, 2021. The price bids will be opened on April 21, 2021. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for April 9, 2021, to address the concerns raised by prospective bidders.
