Wind Power Plant in Daman & Diu

The electricity department of Daman on behalf of the President of India has invited tenders from reputed manufacturers/EPC contractors for setting up of 6.8 MW of grid-connected wind power plant on a turnkey basis at Diu.

The brief scope of work for selected bidders will include the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected wind power system. The selected bidder will also be required to provide a comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project for a period of 5 years from the date of commissioning.

The last date of bid submissions is April 22, 2019, the technical bods opening will take place on April 23, 2019, and price bid opening on April 30, 2019. All bidders must sub sit an Earnest Money Deposit of Rs 61.61 lakhs along with their bids.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 51.61 crore and project developers will be afforded a time scale of 6 months to complete the project.

Recently, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued tender inviting bids for setting up of 1200 MW ISTS Connected Wind Power Projects (Tranche-VII) on a pan India basis.

Last year, Diu Smart City became the country’s first city to run completely on renewable energy during daytime setting a new benchmark for other cities to become clean and green. Adopting a two-pronged approach whereby a 9 MW solar park spread over 50 hectares rocky barren land has been developed besides installing solar panels on the rooftops on 79 government buildings thereby generating 1.3 MW annually, it added.

Moreover, in order to further enhance its solar capacity, the city offers its residents a subsidy of Rs 10,000-50,000 for installing 1-5 kW rooftop solar panels.
