Tata Power Builds Green Energy Skill Centre in Delhi
Tata Power, through its training arm, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), has recently inaugurated a Green Energy Skill Centre in collaboration with the Centre for Power Efficiency and Renewable Energy (CENPEID) and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL). Located in Rohini, New Delhi, the centre offers holistic training in green, digital, and safety skills to build a future-ready energy workforce.
The event was attended by senior representatives from government and industry, including Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power; and JVN Subramanyam, Joint Secretary, MNRE.
Courses Offered by TATA Power
TPSDI has offered training programs that combine the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and NCVET-approved Qualification Packs (QPs), aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry requirements. Aligning its training offerings with national priorities like the PM Surya Ghar initiative under MNRE’s skilling framework, TPSDI contributes to broader goals of workforce development in the clean energy sector.
As of FY25, TPSDI has trained over 3.4 lakh individuals in different areas like solar, storage, and electrical safety. It has also conducted training programs in over 43 locations, both in India and abroad, including Bhutan, Ethiopia, and Liberia. Through these efforts, Tata Power continues to support the development of a skilled workforce aligned with India’s clean energy transition.
