Renewable energy company Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) today announced receiving an EPC order for 245 MW of solar project from a Gujarat-based Public Sector Utility (PSU). It said that it was declared an a L1 bidder for a tender in this regard for a turnkey EPC package for a 245 MW (AC) grid-connected Solar PV Project in Gujarat.
Speaking on emerging as successful L1 bidder, Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group, shared, “We are excited to continue to build our gross order inflows1 (including L1), which have exceeded INR 2,000 crore this year. This further strengthens our position in the domestic market, which reaffirms our position as a trusted partner in the renewable industry. The overall renewable market, including the domestic market, continues to remain very buoyant, and ordering activity is beginning to gather pace, which is likely to benefit EPC players going forward.”
SWREL Order Book and Execution
As of June 2025, SWREL had an unexecuted order book worth ₹8,348 crore, with 88% from domestic projects and the rest from international orders, mainly in Europe and South Africa, C.K. Thakur, Global Chief Executive Officer of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, said in an investor call.
Explaining the rationale behind the delay in project execution, Ajit Singh, chief financial officer, said, "In the June quarter (Q1 FY26), the company commissioned over 1 GW of renewable projects in Gujarat and Rajasthan, despite disruptions of 40–45 days due to India-Pakistan border tensions. Revenue grew 93% year-on-year, although sequential growth slowed compared with the March quarter, which the company attributed to seasonal factors."
