Sunraycer, ENGIE Strike Revenue Swap Deals for 125 MW/250 MWh Texas BESS Projects

Sunraycer, ENGIE Strike Revenue Swap Deals for 125 MW/250 MWh Texas BESS Projects

Sunraycer Renewables LLC (Sunraycer), a developer, owner, and operator of clean energy power sites, has executed two Revenue Swap Agreements with ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA), part of ENGIE North America (ENGIE). In a release, Sunraycer Renewables said, “This agreement aims to support its Midpoint and Gaia battery energy storage projects in Texas.”

Sunraycer Renewables explained that the agreements will facilitate the construction and operation of its battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, delivering approximately 125 MWac and 250 MWh of capacity and ancillary services to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid. Midpoint, near Blum, Texas, will provide 50 MWac / 100 MWh, while Gaia, near Kerens, Texas, will contribute 75 MWac / 150 MWh. Both projects are scheduled to begin commercial operations in late Q4 2025.

On its latest agreement with ENGIE, the company explained, "Sunraycer's Accelerant Program offers a differentiated approach for smaller developers, providing flexible capital solutions and institutional access to O&M, energy management, and generation management services. This structure enhances execution certainty and serves as an attractive alternative to traditional utilities. The program’s success has helped Sunraycer with it growing portfolio that includes major partnerships with large data center operators."
