Sungrow Unveils New Inverter and Energy Storage Lineup at REI 2025

The new portfolio includes the PowerStack 255CS energy storage system for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, the MG5/6RL hybrid inverter and MGL060 battery for homes, and the S2500S-L microinverter for rooftop solar systems.

Global solar inverter and energy storage supplier Sungrow unveiled a new range of products at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025, including commercial and residential systems designed to improve local energy stability and meet India’s growing demand for reliable power.

The new portfolio includes the PowerStack 255CS energy storage system for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications, the MG5/6RL hybrid inverter and MGL060 battery for homes, and the S2500S-L microinverter for rooftop solar systems.

Sungrow, which entered the Indian market in 2014, said the launches reinforce its long-term commitment to localization and sustainable growth. “By launching new products in the Indian market, combining innovation with on-site experience, we enable partners and customers to meet the growing electricity demand,” said Sunil Badesra, country manager of Sungrow India.

PowerStack 255CS system

The company said its PowerStack 255CS system uses 314 Ah battery cells to deliver 257 kWh capacity in a two-hour configuration. The liquid-cooled design and AI-based thermal balance reduce system heat loss by about 33%, while maintaining stable battery temperatures for higher efficiency and safety.

For households, the MG5/6RL inverter paired with the MGL060 battery offers up to 8 inverters and 16 batteries in parallel, with zero power derating at 45°C and seamless backup switching within 4 milliseconds. The battery features IP65 protection and corrosion resistance for up to 15 years of operation.

Microinverter For Residential 

The newS2500S-L microinverter, designed for residential rooftops, delivers 2.5 kW of nominal power and operates reliably in high-heat environments up to 80°C. It features four independent MPPTs, one-click configuration, and rapid shutdown compliant with IEC 63027 safety standards.

Sungrow has over 1,000 C&I energy storage installations globally across industries such as automotive, metallurgy, and textiles. As of June 2025, the company has installed 870 GW of power electronic converters worldwide.
