Global renewable energy firm Sungrow unveiled its latest commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage systems at Intersolar Europe 2025, including the PowerStack 255CS liquid-cooled energy storage system and the SH125CX hybrid inverter.

The new DC-coupled solution targets medium to large-scale C&I applications and is designed to improve power stability, reduce energy costs, and support electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The launch comes amid growing demand for energy storage, with global installed C&I capacity expected to reach 46 GWh by 2028.

The PowerStack 255CS features 314Ah battery cells and is available in 257kWh or 514kWh configurations, with over 90% round-trip efficiency and a 20-year design life. It integrates power conversion systems, energy and battery management systems, and complies with international safety standards including UL9540 and NFPA guidelines.

Sungrow also introduced the SH125CX inverter, which delivers 125kW nominal output and supports DC-AC ratios up to 2.0. It allows for parallel operation of up to 24 units, offering a maximum 3MW AC output and 6MWh energy storage. The system supports both new installations and retrofits.

The inverter is IP66 rated for dust and water resistance and includes an Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI 3.0), capable of detecting faults across cable lengths of up to 450 meters.

Sungrow said its C&I energy storage systems have been deployed in more than 1,000 projects worldwide, serving industries such as metallurgy, automotive, and textiles, with deployments in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

“The C&I market is a strategic focus,” said Meng Yang, Vice President of Sungrow Europe. “We aim to strengthen our local partnerships and support the transition to a low-carbon future across Europe.”

Founded over 28 years ago, Sungrow has installed more than 740 GW of power electronic converters globally. It is ranked No. 1 in global PV inverter shipments by S&P Global Commodity Insights and recognized as the most bankable energy storage company by BloombergNEF.
