Green energy company Sun Pacific Holding Corp has developed a new innovative photovoltaic (PV) lightweight, non-glass solar panel.

This new technology was developed by Sun Pacific Power Corp engineers and can be utilized in residential rooftops, solar fields and commercial rooftops.

These new non-glass panels weigh less than traditional glass panels and also less expensive to build.

The company said it has also applied for a patent for this process with the US patent office.

Commenting on the achievement, Sun Pacific Holding Corp, CEO, Nicholas B. Campanella said, “Sun Pacific recently announced plans to grow our renewable energy business by combining solar projects and manufacturing. In addition to being American made, our patent pending, non-glass solar panels are lighter than glass panels and will drastically reduce the cost of solar.”

According to Zion Market Research, the global Solar Panel Market accounted for USD 30.8 billion in 2016 and is expected to reach USD 57.3 billion by 2022, growing at a CAGR of 10.9% between 2017 and 2022.

The recent legislation imposed tariffs of 30% on imported solar panel technology in a bid to protect domestic manufacturers, like Sun Pacific Holding Corp.

Since approximately 80% of solar panel products have been imported in the past, some industry sources say tariffs could add more than 100,000 jobs.
