Power transmission infrastructure developer Sterlite Power has joined hands with the country’s other leading power transmission companies to announce common benchmark practices for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) in the power sector.

Moreover, this charter will operate under the jointly created forum SANQALP (Safety and Quality Association of Leading Partners).

As per the National Electricity Plan (NEP) on transmission, India requires about Rs 2.7 lakh crore till FY22 to build the additional electricity transmission system in the country.

This charter will help streamline the commissioning process to build reliable and quality assets while ensuring safety in each step at work.

Commenting on the development, Sterlite Power, Global Infra Business, CEO, Ved Mani Tiwari said, “SANQALP is a big step towards achieving global standards in the Indian power transmission industry. SANQALP will be launched during the 6th International Exhibition & Conference ‘Gridtech 2019’ from April 3, 2019 to April 5, 2019 at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Also, Sterlite Power, Tata Projects & Unitech were among its founding members.
