Indian solar module manufacturing firm Solex Energy Ltd has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Malaysia-based automation firm TT Vision Holdings Berhad. The module maker signed the pact to collaborate on solar manufacturing automation, engineering training and talent development.

Under the agreement, TT Vision will provide specialised technical training to Solex engineers at its facility in Penang, Malaysia, and at its upcoming operations in India, with a focus on automation systems, solar inspection technologies and manufacturing best practices.

Preferential Access

Solex will gain preferential access to TT Vision’s automation technologies to support research and development, new product introduction and process optimisation, while also acting as a preferred partner for the rollout of TT Vision’s future automation solutions, the companies said.

TT Vision will also advise Solex on operational excellence initiatives, including good manufacturing practices, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, particularly during capacity expansion. In parallel, Solex will support TT Vision’s entry into India by providing guidance on manufacturing setup, supply chain alignment and engagement with government authorities.

3-Year MoU Validity

The MoU will remain valid for an initial period of 36 months and does not create any binding legal or financial obligations. Both companies will retain ownership of their respective intellectual property, with any jointly developed technologies to be governed by separate agreements.

“This partnership is aligned with our focus on automation and advanced manufacturing as we prepare for the next phase of growth,” Solex Energy Chairman and Managing Director Chetan Shah said in a statement.

Strengthening India's Manufacturing 

TT Vision Chief Executive Officer Goon Koon Yin said the collaboration comes as India strengthens its position as a global solar manufacturing hub.

Solex Energy, headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, manufactures photovoltaic modules and provides engineering, procurement and construction services. TT Vision Holdings Berhad is listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and specialises in automation and machine vision systems used in solar and electronics manufacturing.
