SolarSquare Crosses 250 MW Installed Solar Capacity, Adds 150 MW from C&I Projects
SolarSquare, a firm known more for its residential rooftop focus, recently crossed an installed solar capacity milestone of 250 MW. Interestingly, of the 250 MW milestone, 100 MW comes from residential projects—rooftop solar installed on over 25,000 homes and across 240 housing societies. while the remaining 150 MW has been driven by commercial and industrial (C&I) projects, where the company has solarized factories and warehouses of leading brands such as Swiggy, D’Decor, Force Motors, and several others. That stat will surprise a few people who have associated it prinarily with residential solar, while the focus has actually been on rooftop solar until now.
Explaining the share of solar projects added by SolarSquare, said, “Since its founding in 2015, SolarSquare has transformed rooftops into power plants across India. With operations in 20 cities today, the company plans to expand to 50 by 2030, entering new emerging markets in the near future.”
Help From India's Push For Rooftop Solar Adoption
For the Mumbai-based SolarSquare, the PM Suryaghar scheme for rooftop solar has been a huge catalyst for growth. "While the government set a 40 GW rooftop solar target by 2026, only 11 GW has been achieved so far. The company is helping bridge this gap, particularly with the rollout of the ₹75,000 crore PM-Surya Ghar scheme, which aims to solarize 1 crore households."
Operating on a full-stack model, from design and installation to government permits, financing, and long-term maintenance, SolarSquare eliminates middlemen to deliver a seamless and affordable transition to clean energy.
SolarSquare, sharing its progress in the rooftop segment it said, "But we are just getting started - while 20 Lakh homes in India have adopted solar so far, there are crores of homes still waiting to join the solar revolution of India. And that’s why we are the first company in India to offer rooftop solar with a promise of guaranteed savings, taking responsibility for not just the installation but also 100% responsibility of the performance of solar thereafter. Making the switch to solar truly hassle-free for Indian families.”
