“We are focusing on developing indigenous products. Last year, we recorded an 11% market share under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, and in Gujarat alone, our share is around 40%,” Patel said. “Our goal is to become a major national player, and we are already supplying our products to multiple states across India.”

Breaking the Ceiling in Hybrid Inverters

Highlighting the company’s latest product, Patel explained that the newly launched 125 kW hybridinverter marks a significant leap in capacity.

“In India, string inverters are available up to 136 kW, while hybrid inverters have traditionally been limited to around 80 kW. We wanted to break that ceiling,” he said. “Many commercial and industrial consumers want to adopt hybrid rooftop solar connections but lacked suitably sized hybrid inverters. Our 125 kW model bridges that gap.”

Growing Demand for Storage

According to Patel, the Indian solar market is undergoing a transition as customers shift from conventional string inverters to hybrid solutions that include storage.

“Energy storage is emerging as the future of the Indian solar industry,” he noted. “The market is large and offers opportunities for new players. At present, Solar Yaan offers hybrid inverters ranging from 3 kW to 125 kW, with battery capacities scalable from 6 kW to 724 kW.”

Leadership in Microinverters

Solar Yaan, which launched its microinverter range around eight months ago, has already become the highest seller of microinverters in the 600 W to 2.4 kW range, he said. The company has now launchedIndia’s first 3 kW micro hybrid inverter, becoming the first Indian manufacturer to do so.

Patel emphasized the company’s commitment to local manufacturing. “We are working to indigenize production. Our string inverter line is already operational, and as commercialization scales up, prices of hybrid inverters and microinverters will come down,” he added.
