Solar Tracker Firm GameChange Solar Sets Up Office in Bangalore

GameChange Solar, which manufactures fixed tilt structures and solar trackers, is setting up an office in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The company currently has approximately 400 MW of solar under construction in India. It plans to build its business development staff at the India office over the next year.

Additionally, the India office will also be responsible for providing engineering and manufacturing support for GameChange Solar’s other global operations outside India. GameChange Solar intends to source the materials for its tracking systems majorly from within the country.

GameChange Solar’s innovative Genius Tracker, as well as its MaxSpan and Pour-In-Place racking systems, are among its flagship products sold throughout the world. The company also offers an innovative above-ground cable management system.

Vikas Bansal, Chief Operating Officer, International for GameChange Solar, said, “Over the next few years, we anticipate solar development to grow dramatically in India. As one of the world’s leading solar tracking companies, we want to be here to support that growth and to bring more clean, sustainable energy to India.”

In March this year, the PV tracker firm announced that it had deployed over 2,30,000 solar trackers till date. Each solar tracker is an independent robotic system that moves an average of 90 PV solar modules throughout the course of the day to follow the sun and interact with weather patterns to optimize energy harvest for power plant owners.

In other news about solar trackers, RE firm Intersect Power has named Signal Energy as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm for two solar projects totaling 728 MW in Texas and California. The projects will use the NX Horizon smart solar trackers and TrueCapture yield optimization software from Nextracker, one of the most popular tracker manufacturers in the world.

Both Radian and Athos III will use Nextracker’s TrueCapture tracker optimization and control software to capture additional energy gain during diffuse light conditions. The technology continuously refines the tracking algorithm of each individual solar array in response to existing site and weather conditions. Nextracker said the software can deliver energy gains from 2-6%.
