SJVN Floats Another 600 MW ISTS-Connected Wind Tender on BOO Basis

Shortly after issuing a 600 MW wind tender earlier in September, SJVN has come up with another wind tender to set up the project on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis anywhere. The ISTS-connected wind tender was issued inviting bids from Wind Power Developers (WPDs) to set up ISTS-connected Wind Power Projects. The tender includes setting up the transmission network up to the Interconnection/Delivery Point. It has sought bids for this project till October 31, 2025.

Under this tender, SJVN has considered wind projects that are already under construction, yet to be commissioned, or commissioned but selling wind power on a short-term merchant basis. The projects will be subject to the condition that they have not been accepted under any State or Central Scheme, and do not have obligations to sell power to any beneficiaries.

Scope Of Work

The tender explained, "In such cases, they will be given the benefit of a longer period of PPA, commensurate with the duration between the actual date of commencement of power supply and the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD). A partial capacity of Wind Power Plants, for which PPAs have not been signed, can also be offered by the bidder, subject to meeting the minimum offered capacity requirement of 50 MW.”

The minimum project size of a single Wind Power Project shall be 50 MW, to be interconnected at the Delivery Point, and in multiples of 10 MW thereafter. The aggregate capacity of wind projects selected through this RfS will be 600 MW. The maximum capacity quoted by a bidder should not exceed 300 MW.

The wind project location/configuration will be submitted by the bidder at the time of bid submission, and it shall remain unchanged until the issuance of the LoA. However, the successful bidder shall have the option to change the project location before Financial Closure.
