Shakti Pumps Secures Empanelment for 34,720 Off-Grid Solar Pumps from MSEDCL Photograph: (Archive)
Indian solar pump company Shakti Pumps (India) Limited (SPIL) has announced a major breakthrough under Maharashtra’s solar agriculture programme.
The company received a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL) on August 12, 2025, for the supply and installation of 34,720 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM-KUSUM B.
On August 27, MSEDCL opened its portal offering the first tranche of 10,000 solar pumps from Shakti Pumps. The entire quota was booked by farmers within just 1.5 hours, highlighting robust demand and farmer confidence. The tranche is valued at about ₹268.88 crore (inclusive of GST).
Commenting on the milestone, Shakti Pumps Chairman Dinesh Patidar said: "This swift uptake by farmers is a strong validation of the trust in Shakti Pumps’ technology and service delivery. With our execution capabilities and established presence in Maharashtra, we are confident of timely completion of this order.”
