Raman Bhatia, Managing Director (MD) of the firm, said that it has planned to start with 1.2 GW of solar cell capacity. This comes at a time when the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has mandated rolling out the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar cells. The mandate talks about the use of only domestic solar cells for the production of solar modules in India.

From Modules To EV Chargers

The company, through its acquisitions, has also started the production of solar modules. Bhatia said that it has been into the production of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, inverters, and other solutions. The company also showcased its hybrid inverters at the recently held Renewable Energy Expo (REI) at Greater Noida.

“We have been into the production of power products. Based on the demand and technology, we are trying to update our products. We used to make stabilizers earlier; later we shifted to EV chargers. Now we are offering on-grid inverters and hybrid inverters,” he said.

Hybrid Inverters Launch

He said that hybrid inverters have become more significant as they have come as a boon for low-grid inverters. The firm showcased its hybrid inverted at the latest REI Expo in Greater Noida.

He added that the demand for hybrid inverters has also gone up. “Hybrid inverters are multi-tasking devices. They have advanced technology. It is a myth that they are costly. The fact is that they have a higher upfront cost but come with more options. We are now offering our batteries integrated with hybrid inverters as complete solar solutions,” he said. He also mentioned that work is underway to start offering microinverters for the Indian market.
