Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) recently extended the bid submission deadline for the manufacturing, testing, packing forwarding, supply, and transportation of 900 MWp domestically manufactured solar PV modules with domestically manufactured solar cells.

SECI revised the existing date and time for bid submission from 12th March at 2 pm to 26th March 2024 at 2 pm. The recent notification by SECI revised the date and time of bids opening to 26 March at 4 pm.

Earlier, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) released a tender, inviting bids for domestically manufactured solar PV modules with solar cells. The tender invited bids for domestic manufacturing, testing, packing and forwarding, supply, and transportation of the 900 MWp project. The document placed the pre-bid for the project at 11 am on 27th February.

The document reads, “SECI used a single stage two envelope online bidding system followed by an e-reverse auction. The bid document reads, “The bid document is free of cost and the contract performance security is five percent of the total project/order cost for a total period of 27 months. The online bid will open from 12th March 2024 onwards. The financial bid opening is to be intimated after the shortlisting of techno-commercial bids.”

The document said, “The tender mandates the use of both solar photovoltaic (SPV) cells and modules manufactured domestically as per specifications and testing requirements fixed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). For the supplies to be done under this tender, both the solar cells and modules must be made in India and modules shall be from the Manufacturers listed in the ALMM list, published & updated by MNRE from time to time. In the case of crystalline silicon Technology, all process steps and quality control measures involved in the manufacture of Solar Cells and Modules starting from wafers until the final assembly of the Solar Cells into modules shall be performed at the works of PV Manufacturers in India.”
