Recently, many major projects in Rajasthan have been stuck pending resolution of the issue around construction in the habitat of the Great Indian Bustard.

For Hindustan Salts Limited, the foray into Solar seems to be a last ditch attempt to find a better use for the huge land holdings under it, as the loss making firm struggles financially to stay solvent. Even a part of the land holdings are under encroachment, an issue likely to come up at some stage.
