Revised ALMM-II: Websol Energy Forays Into MNRE's List For Solar Cells

According to the updated listing, Websol’s facility is now approved for 602 MW per year of Mono Crystalline PERC (Bifacial) and P-Type Bifacial solar cells.

West Bengal-based Websol Energy has been officially included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) latest updated Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) – II for solar cells. The company, which began its operations in India in the 1990s, has entered the list with a verified manufacturing capacity of 602 MW. The approval is valid until November 23, 2029.

Websol, currently focused on manufacturing mono-PERC solar cells as part of its expansion strategy, has secured ALMM enlistment for 602 MW of mono-crystalline PERC (Bifacial) and P-type bifacial solar cells. These products feature cell dimensions of 182.2 mm × 182.2 mm and 182.2 mm × 183.75 mm, incorporating 10 busbars (10BB) and PID-free characteristics.

For its Mono Crystalline PERC (Bifacial) category, the company has reported an average solar cell efficiency of 23.16%, along with corresponding wattage categories under the ALMM framework. Updated details for the P-Type Bifacial product line also include MNRE-approved efficiency and wattage specifications.

The cumulative capacity from the latest ALMM list reveals India's total enlisted solar cell capacity at 15.48 GW. Besdies Websol, the list also talks about capacities of TP Solar, Emmvee, ReNew, Mundra (Adani) among others.

Websol Energy’s manufacturing plant is located at Sector-II, Falta Special Economic Zone, in Falta, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal (PIN 743504). The facility has been expanding its cell and module capability in line with the increasing domestic demand driven by India’s solar manufacturing push.

The revisions to Websol’s ALMM listings strengthen the company’s position in India’s growing solar supply chain, where upgraded efficiencies and compliant product lines are essential for participation in government-backed projects.
