REC Seeking Bid Assistance for Participating in Solar Tender in Karnataka

RECPDCL, a REC subsidiary, is seeking bid assistance for participating in a tender for setting up ISTS-connected solar projects in Karnataka

REC Power Distribution Company Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC, has issued a tender, inviting bids from its empaneled agencies, for providing bid assistance to the firm as it intends to participate in the tender for setting up ISTS-connected solar PV power projects in Karnataka under tariff-based competitive bidding.

The firm has confirmed that the tentative bidding capacity is 200 MW, however, that capacity may change at the time of bidding.

RECPRCL is an empanelled government agency under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) engaged in providing value-added consultancy services in the power sector arena covering power generation, renewable energy sector and energy efficiency programs including GOI power schemes for power utilities across the country and various regulatory assignments with CERC/SERCs. The firm intends to participate in the tender, and for that purpose has invited bids from its empanelled Owner’s Engineers for providing the following services.

The scope of work for the selected agency will include (not limited to):

1. Preparation of BoQ, Estimation of Project Cost and Financial Analysis;

  • Adequate quantities of material (AC & DC capacity of the solar plant)
  • Realistically estimated pricing of major materials (such as module, inverter, module mounting structure, cables, transformer, land and associated cost, etc.)
  • Estimation of transmission line with suitable voltage level, Auxiliary consumption, Transmission line losses, Bay extension, Route Survey. For estimation of cost towards power evacuation and land, site visits also to be carried out.
  • List of clearances/approval required.
  • Estimation of O&M cost (spare parts inventory, replacement schedules and associated cost, Insurance cost, yearly lease amount and escalation, etc.) and more

2. To provide live support during the e-reverse auction for the tender.

The last date for bid submission is January 29, 2021, and the financial bids will be opened on the same date. A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for January 25, 2021, to address the concerns raised by the prospective bidders.
