Rajasthan: NLC India Brings 158.83 MW of 300 MW Solar Project Online
NLC India, in continuation of its earlier intimation dated August 26, 2025, has successfully commissioned the second phase of the 300 MW Solar Power Project at Bikaner in Rajasthan. It commissioned this project with a 106 MW capacity and declared it commercially operational at Barsingsar, Distt. Bikaner, Rajasthan. The Commissioning Certificate for the same has been received from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited on 02nd November, 2025, it stated in a regulatory filing.
NLC India explained that the first part capacity of 52.83 MW has already been declared for commercial operation on August 26, 2025. The total capacity declared on commercial operation is 158.83 MW out of 300 MW.
NLC India to Hive Off 1,430 MW Renewable Energy Assets to Subsidiary NIRL
Last month, NLC India, in continuation of its earlier intimation dated August 7, 2025, regarding the in-principle approval for the Business Transfer Agreement, has proposed to hive off its renewable energy assets. The company expects to complete the sale or disposal process by December 31, 2025.
In a regulatory filing, NLC India stated, “The proposed hive-off involves seven renewable energy assets with a total capacity of 1,430 MW, to be transferred from the company to its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), under the Asset Monetization Plan approved by the Ministry of Coal, the administrative ministry.”
The company has proposed to transfer ₹701.61 crore in revenue from seven renewable energy assets in FY 2025. This represents 4.59% of NLCIL’s total consolidated revenue of ₹15,282.96 crore, based on the audited financial statements as of March 31, 2025.
Financial Performance till September 2025
NLC India recorded its highest-ever half-yearly revenue from operations of ₹8,004.02 crore for the period ended September 2025. This is an increase compared to ₹7,035.50 crore in the same period last year, marking a growth of 13.77%. NLC India’s net worth stood at ₹19,965.62 crore as of September 30, 2025, compared to ₹17,771.02 crore in the previous year, showing a 12.35% increase.
The company’s Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹1,564.01 crore, up slightly from ₹1,549.10 crore in H1 FY 2024–25, reflecting a growth of 0.96%. Its Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) for the half year amounted to ₹3,190.17 crore, as against ₹3,170.83 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a modest growth of 0.61%.
During this period, the company also commissioned and laid down foundation stone for solar projects. The Prime Minister of India laid the foundation stone for NLCIL’s 600 MW solar project at Khavda and a 50 MW wind project at Dayapar in Kutch, Gujarat. Additionally, the company commissioned the first phase (52.83 MW) of its 300 MW solar power project at Barsingsar, Rajasthan. With this, NLCIL Group’s total power generation capacity has increased to 6,783.89 MW, including 1,483.89 MW of renewable energy capacity.
