Punjab Issues Tender for 90 KW Solar Rooftop Project

The total installed renewable energy capacity in Punjab is around 1593 MW including 920 MW in solar as on August, 2018.

Punjab’s Department of Housing and Urban Development has issued a tender for development of solar rooftop plant of 90 KW capacity on the premise of Patiala Urban Planning And Development Authority.

The scope of work includes design, approvals, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of grid connected net metering rooftop 90 kw (batteryless) solar power plant system including 5 years free of cost un-conditional comprehensive maintenance.

The last date for the submission of bid is January 9, 2019. The timeframe for the completion of the project is three months.

The eligibility criteria states that the bidder must have at least 500 KW of capacity.

The total installed renewable energy capacity in Punjab is around 1593 MW including 920 MW in solar as on August, 2018.

Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission is fully supporting the setting up of Renewable Energy Power Projects and determining preferential tariffs as per CERC Regulations adopted by the Commission with State specific parameters. The Commission determines generic (preferential) tariff every year.

The State has taken a major initiative during the last 3 years to enhance the solar capacity in line with the policy directions of the Govt. of India. The State was having installed capacity of only 9 MW in February, 2012 which has escalated to 920 MW as on August 2018.
