StarCharge, under the agreement, will deploy its 5 MWh Container Energy Storage Systems, designed to enhance grid stability and facilitate renewable energy integration, it added. With the 1GWh capacity scheduled for deployment within the coming year, this project will make a meaningful contribution to India's target of achieving 500GW renewable energy capacity by 2030.

"We are honored to partner with Prozeal Green Energy, a premier EPC and IPP in India, to support the country's renewable energy transition," said George Zhang, MD of StarCharge BESS APAC. "This collaboration marks a strategic milestone in our global expansion and reflects our shared vision for sustainable energy development."

Notably, StarCharge previously also secured a 100MWh BESS agreement with a key Eastern European client in August. The project will follow a phased delivery schedule with initial shipments commencing before year-end. This demonstrated the company's steady expansion in the international energy storage market.

Within the battery energy storage space, a recent trend shows that more Indian companies are placing orders and partnering with Chinese firms to meet their growing technology and manufacturing needs. Notable examples include ACME Solar and Servotech Renewable Power.

For example, last month, ACME Solar placed an order for over 3.1 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) with global suppliers Zhejiang Narada and Trina Storage. The BESS will support its firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) and battery-linked projects.

Similarly, Servotech Renewable Power System Limited partnered with Zhuhai Piwin New Energy Co., Ltd. (Pilot Group) in China to gain technological support and local manufacturing assistance for building BESS in India.
